How do I know if my roof has problems?
In most cases, roofing problems are discovered after damage has occurred from a leak. However, not all leaks produce visible damage immediately. Some leaks can occur for up to a year before showing any signs of damage. To avoid this hidden problem, it is important to have your roof inspected at least every five years by a qualified person. You may see excessive granules running down the downspout, shingles in the lawn, or excessive curling and cupping of the shingles on the roof.

How can a homeowner prevent roofing problems?
Once a year inspections can discover cracked, warped, or missing shingles, loose seams and deteriorated flashing's, excessive surface granules accumulating in the gutters or downspouts, and other visible signs of roof problems. Indoors, look for cracked paint, discolored plasterboard, and peeling wallpaper as sings of damaged roof areas.

If my roof leaks, will I need to have it totally replaced?
In limited cases, no. Leaking can occur because some flashing's have come loose or because a section of the roof has been damaged. A roof failure, on the other hand, is generally irreversible and occurs from a large portion being damage by a hurricane, tornado or high winds, choice of materials, or from the installation of a roof system inappropriate for the home or building. You may also have a tile match issue where the tiles are no longer manufactured and the insurance company should replace the roof in its entirety.

What are my options if I decide to re-roof?
The best option is to completely replace the roof system.

What is the best time of year to have my roof replaced?
Any time is a good time. Roofing materials are safe to install year round, weather permitting.

How do you know my roof and property has hail damage? Can I tell from the ground?
Roofing systems must be physically inspected by a trained roof inspector to determine if there is actual hail damage. Hail damage is insidious in nature and may not physically cause leakage for years after hailstorm. But we at Stay Dri Roofing cannot be sure whether or not your property has storm damage until we made our inspection.

How long will it take?
The time an inspection takes will depend on several factors, roof pitch, height, design and size and any other damage that may occur from the storm. As a whole it takes our staff approximately 30 min to 45 min to account for all the damages and a few minutes of your undivided time to disclose these findings and to go over your next steps.

How do you know if your property has storm related damages?
Are your neighbors filing claims and receiving compensation from their insurance companies for damages to their homes caused by wind or hailstorms? Does your home have evident damage such as pockmarks on aluminum siding, holes in vinyl siding, pockmarks on your gutters, roofing granules at the bottom of your downspouts.

Not all evidence of roof damage is easily seen or has immediate effect, but if a hailstorm has hit your roof it can take five to ten years off its lifespan.

Hail creates very unique damage. Even slight hail strikes can cause the release of granules on the surface of shingles which compromises the integrity of the shingle construction, thereby significantly shortening the life of your roof. Please be aware that shingle manufacturers do not honor warranties on roofs with this type of damage. If your roof has sustained this type of hail damage, your homeowner insurance company is responsible for the cost of roof replacement.
