Roof Deck Protection

Roofing felt allows moisture to escape from your attic and provides a strong layer of protection against ice dams and wind-driven rain. Roofing felt is standard on all Stay Dry GC roofs.

Drip Edge

All Stay Dry GC installations include a corrosion resistant drip edge applied along eaves.

Starter Strip

Starter strips help reduce the entry of rain and wind at the roof edge. This reduces the risk of blow-off and ice damming.

Ridge Cap Shingles

Ridge caps add the finishing touch to your home’s over all beauty and value. It also protects your home from leaks at the hips and ridges. Some roofers cut costs and use regular shingles. Ridge caps are installed on all Stay Dry GC installations.

Attic Ventilation

Helps remove excess heat and moisture from your attic. Helps reduce your family’s health risks by removing the warm air and moisture that can lead to mold growth. Also helps prevent higher energy bills and premature peeling of interior paint and wallpaper. Most roofing  installers did not put in adequate ventilation which does not allow heat and moisture to escape properly. (optional)

Ridge Vent

Hot, stale attic air is removed through the use of a ridge vent. Fresh air is drawn into your attic through your soffit (or other) intake vents. (Ridge vents are optional)

Fastening

Stay Dry GC only uses a 6-nail per shingle pattern. This improves the roof warranty and makes the shingles are harder to blow off. Typically, in order to cut nail cost and reduce labor, roofing installers use a 4-nail fastening systems. Some will even use staples which have less holding power and are more easily dislodged by wind and rain.
